Pyrus Clairgeau

AURUM 750‰ · ARGENTUM 925‰ · SAPPHIRUS ROSEA · TSAVORITUS · MILIUM
One only · Not repeated

A gardener in Nantes raised this pear in 1838 and it carries his name. Beurré Clairgeau. It ripens in November, it can reach half a kilo, and it is known for being difficult — a good variety, but capricious, depending entirely on the ground it stands in.

The blush is what it is known for. Pink sapphires run from rose to salmon across the body, set into Milium worked over the whole double curve of the fruit. The leaf is silver, set with tsavorite, with the main vein in gold.
Thirty-six millimetres with the stem. It opens.
